To set SD card the default storage, Follow the following steps:
Step 1: Take your SD card and insert it in your android phone.
Step 2: You will receive a pop up message asking you how you would like to use the SD card.
Step 3: Choose the phone storage option.
Step 4: By doing so, a prompt will appear in your phone requiring you to format the SD card.
Step 5: When the format process is complete, you will be prompted again to move content to SD card.
If there is any chance that your phone does not accept this prompt automatically, there are some steps you can follow to do set the SD card.
- Launch your settings app.
- Then click on ‘Storage settings’
- Tap on the SD card tab(external storage)
- On your phone’s screen, change the default location from internal storage to SD card.
By following the above steps, you should be able to use your SD card as your default storage. Incase you start saving photos and videos right away, the data will be stored to your SD card directly.
